loving our nEIghbour
Compassion and loving the poor, marginalissed and struggling people of Medway is part of who we are, not something we do. We love to use our time, energy and money to bless those people who are struggling in life. At the same time, we are Kingdom-minded people and if another church is doing something well, we would rather support them than duplicate their efforts.
Deuteronomy 15:11
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’
Matthew 25:40
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
We believe that we can each be part of this calling as individuals and as a church. As individuals we can be open handed and generous, we can look for opportunities to bless people and we can support the activities of the church. As a church we can partner with other organisations and provide for people's needs. James 2:16 says 'If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?'
