It’s a bit like church – Sunday 6th May 2012

We are launching a new monthly event entitled “It’s a bit like church.” This is because it’s not a church service, but it is a chance for people to meet together on a Sunday, share a lunch and talk about things. Children will be welcome and food will be provided. We plan to meet on the first Sunday of each month and will raise a general topic for discussion each time. Topics will be things like love, community, poverty, social action and other non-specific subjects and will only be a loose title to encourage discussion over lunch (a bit like families do anyway!).

Timings will be 12.30pm until 2.30pm and the location is tbc.

God bless,

Andy and Sharon.

Litter Pick at Luton Rec – 17th March

We had a really good time (for some reason!) down at Luton Rec on Saturday. We met up with a really helpful lady from the coucil, Emma who provided us with litter pickers and bags. We then drifted off in two’s and three’s around the rec filling up bags with all sorts of rubbish. In the end we had completely filled nine black bags and looking back around us, it was really rewarding to see what a difference it made. This small thing can really make a difference in people’s lives as they go to the rec to walk dogs, play football or with their children. The simple lack of rubbish everywhere gives the area a different feel. And of course, the heavy rain predicted all afternoon only started as we got back into our cars to go home and watch the rugby!

Vineyard NLC 2012.

I am just back from the Vineyard NLC which was held at Trent Vineyard in Nottingham for the second year and to say I was blessed would be an horrendous understatement! Whilst the prayer and presence of the Holy Spirit were tangible and powerful, the teaching was awesome. The theme was ‘Send us out’ and I can definitely say that I feel sent out! In true Vineyard style, the balance between word and spirit was held in superb tension, but what I felt different about this year was the urgency and challenge to get back to Medway and get on with it! There are people all around Medway who need Jesus to come to bring them hope, healing and freedom as they suffer in their daily lives – this is the urgency. And the challenge is simply that Jesus wants us to do it! He wants us to bring His hope, His healing and His freedom. He has chosen to use us to bring His Kingdom and if we don’t act, then nothing will change. To paraphrase Alan Scott from one of the sessions at the conference, he said somthing similar to: “The Father is always at work, He never stops. It is therefore inconceivable to me that if I go somewhere, that the Father is not at work – I just need to see what He’s doing and speak it out.” So I will be stepping out and taking risks to see His Kingdom come and I would challenge all of us to do the same. Hopefully, the main sessions and seminars will appear on the VCUKI website soon and when they do, I’ll post a link on here.

God bless,

Andy and Sharon.

2012 has arrived!

Happy New Year to everyone. We have been in Medway for three months now and are settling in really well. It really feels like home and we are both feeling a strong sense of love for the area and the people who live here. 2012 is going to be a busy year for the country with football, Olympics and a Diamond Jubilee! We hope to keep busy as well and to start the year we are launching a Daytime Small group which will commence this month. We are also running an Alpha course from 7th March for six weeks as well as the continuing Strood Small group and some other parties and events. It is our prayer that more people will come to know Jesus and that those who already know him will go deeper in 2012.

God bless,

Andy and Sharon.

The Alpha Course – Coming to Medway Vineyard in March 2012

We are really excited about our first Alpha Course which we will be running at our house in Rainham in March 2012! Having come to know Jesus through the Alpha course myself, it is close to my heart. If you’ve not heard about the Alpha Course before, it is simply a 6-8 week course run once a week for a couple of hours which aims to introduce people to Christianity. It is free to attend and we will provide a meal beforehand for anyone interested in coming. Invites will go out in the new year.

See this link to the Alpha website.

God bless,

Andy and Sharon.

We’ve moved in at last.

We arrived on Friday the 7th October at about 7pm having started loading the removal lorries at 8am… The house is lovely and has so many wonderful features we hadn;t even seen on the intial viewings. God has really blessed us with the house and the people around us. So we can take this blessing and share it around. Our next party is a games night (including wine and cheese!) on the 28th October here in Rainham from 8pm. We are so pleased to have arrived and look forward to meeting loads of new people so we can bring hope, healing and freedom to Medway.

God bless,

Andy and Sharon.

Event: Pizza in the Park – 17th September at Riverside Country Park

We will be holding our next party at Riverside Country Park on 17th September from 11.30am til 1.30pm (or whenever we’re done!). Please come and join us for free pizza meeting in the car park (also free). We had planned to do some pond dipping for the children, but unfortunately the park cannot provide anyone for that date. So instead, we will have some art/craft for the children to enjoy. Please feel free to contact us as per the contact page.

God bless,

Andy and Sharon.
